Terms of Service
The super short version: Be respectful, support each other, and use Lume to help with your recovery journey. We're all here to overcome gaming addiction together!
Last updated: 11/15/2025
Our Agreement
These terms cover both our website (lume.gg) and the Lume mobile app. We're building Lume to support people recovering from gaming addiction. We've written these terms in plain English because complicated legal language doesn't help anyone and usually doesn't get read anyway.
Who Can Use Lume
You need to be at least 13 years old to use Lume. If you're between 13-17, make sure a parent or guardian knows you're using the app.
Why the age limit? Lume includes community features, chat with peer mentors, and sensitive recovery content. We want to keep everyone safe and follow privacy laws (like COPPA).

Lume is a new app and we're constantly improving it. Here's what that means:
- We fix bugs quickly - report any issues you find

- Your data is safe - we back everything up regularly
- Occasional hiccups - we're human and things can break
The upside? Your feedback directly shapes what we build next!
Your Account
When You Sign Up:
- Create a strong password and keep it safe
- Provide accurate information
- You're responsible for your account activity
- Tell us immediately if your account is compromised
Community Guidelines
Lume includes community features for support. Keep it respectful and helpful:
Do This:
- • Be kind and supportive
- • Share your experiences honestly
- • Respect others' privacy
- • Give constructive feedback
- • Celebrate victories together
Don't Do This:
- • Harass or bully others
- • Share inappropriate content
- • Spam or advertise
- • Share others' personal info
- • Encourage relapse or harmful behavior
Breaking these guidelines may result in account suspension or termination. We're here to support recovery, not enable toxic behavior.
Subscription & Pricing
How It Works:
- Free features: Basic tracking, community access, daily check-ins
- Premium features: Peer mentorship, advanced analytics, priority support
- Transparent pricing: We'll always be upfront about costs
- Easy cancellation: Cancel anytime, no retention tactics
- Data stays safe: Your progress is preserved if you downgrade or cancel
About Future Pricing:
We're committed to keeping Lume affordable. If we add premium features that cost us more to run (like AI-powered insights), we'll always:
- Give you advance notice
- Explain what you're getting
- Let you choose what's right for you
- Never surprise you with unexpected charges
We'd rather be transparent than trick you with fine print.
Your Content & Data
When you use Lume, you create content (posts, messages, progress entries). Here's what you need to know:
- You own your content - your recovery journey is yours
- We need permission to display it - by posting, you give us a license to show your content in the app
- You can delete your content - remove posts or delete your account anytime
- We keep backups - for security and recovery purposes (but we'll delete them if you request it)
Technical Requirements
- Internet connection: Required for community features and data sync
- Compatible devices: iOS and Android smartphones and tablets
- App updates: Keep your app updated for the best experience
Important Health Disclaimer
Lume is a support tool, not a replacement for professional help.
- • We're not medical professionals or licensed therapists
- • Peer mentors are volunteers who've overcome gaming addiction, not trained counselors
- • If you're in crisis, please contact emergency services or a mental health professional
- • Our emergency resources are for guidance, not crisis intervention
Lume works best alongside professional support, not instead of it.

The Bottom Line
We're building Lume to help people overcome gaming addiction. Be respectful, support each other, use the app responsibly, and remember we're all on this recovery journey together. If you're not happy with Lume, we'd rather you leave feeling good about your experience than trapped by fine print.
